Fast charging electric batteries

Fast input. Big output.

We provide expert support on batteries to fit a variety of boat configurations and requirements.

We offer flexible battery solutions and can support a variety of system integrations, whether a RAD battery supplied directly or through one of our selected third-party partners.

An advanced BMS (battery management system) ensures cells are maintained in optimal condition, providing real-time data on state of charge and cell health.

At 400 V, batteries can be charged using either the onboard AC bi-directional charger or a DC fast charging connection. They also support onboard 12 V power delivery via an integrated DC-DC converter.

Our team can assist in identifying suitable battery options and integration approaches to meet specific project needs.

RAD battery features

Multiple configurations

Our systems can be configured to suit your specific range, performance, and reliability requirements, with flexible options based on capacity.

Battery status

Thanks to our RADBus digital control system, boat operators can view the health, charge status, range and endurance of their electric batteries on the multifunction display via NMEA2000.

AC charging

We offer various AC charging solutions for use with 16 A and 32 A shore power sockets. Our standard onboard AC charger offers charging rates up to 7kW but AC charging at up to 22 kW can be achieved via RAD’s range of onboard charging system.

Advanced battery management

The sophisticated BMS meticulously monitors each cell, maintaining optimal performance and providing real-time updates on your battery status and health via the RADBus network.

DC fast charging

Batteries can be fully compatible with CCS2 DC fast chargers and can be configured to your boat.

What battery should I use for my electric outboard?

When it comes to choosing the right electric outboard battery, there is not a one size fits all approach. The ideal battery capacity depends on several factors such as desired boat speed, range and displacement. For shorter journey requirements a smaller battery will be optimal however if a longer range and higher speeds are desired then a higher capacity battery will be preferable.
