Announcing our new collaboration with Stephens Waring design

We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Stephens Waring Design.

Founded in Belfast, Maine by Steve Waring and Robert Stephens – Stephens Waring Design is a key figure in the maritime industry. Renowned for its expertise in naval architecture, engin eering and design, the RAD team couldn’t be happier to be partnering with them.

With construction already well underway, we are collaborating on the development of Isobel – a 26ft electric commuter boat from Stephens Waring Design – that aims to pave the course for sustainable water travel by utilising the electric advantage of the RAD 40.

The Isobel boat reflects a timeless build, merging both classical 1950s aesthetics with our state-of-the-art electric propulsion system to offer the best of both worlds. Powered by our RAD 40 drive, this vessel combines elegance and eco-friendly innovation to offer a smooth experience across the waterways.

Isobel is built from cedar strips sheathed in fibreglass, and boasts a sleek profile with low sheer lines. This makes for easy boarding and access. The inclusion of a stern platform further enhances usability, making it an ideal electric-powered boat for both commuting and leisure activities.

In selecting the RAD 40 drive Stephens Waring prioritised a solution that would emphasise the exceptional features of Isobel, while offering clean, uncluttered and near-silent operation. Our 40kW (54HP) electric motor is the perfect fit for the boat’s refined design and eco-conscious ethos.

This partnership with Stephens Waring Design exemplifies our shared commitment to innovation, sustainability, and uncompromising quality. Together, we look forward to setting new standards in electric boating, with Isobel leading the charge into a cleaner, quieter, and more environmentally friendly future.
