Assembly technician

Location: Southampton, UK

RAD Propulsion is looking for an Assembly Technician to join its dynamic team developing a cutting-edge, electric marine propulsion product range.

The primary role is in the assembly of products at RAD’s waterside facility on the River Hamble. It will cover many disciplines, involving mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems. In addition, the technician will be involved in commissioning and testing the products including some time on the water in test boats and travelling to other sites around the UK.

Working alongside the production manager, the technician will meticulously follow and help develop assembly, disassembly and maintenance instructions while producing drives and associated products. As production volumes increase, the technician will assist in transferring the assembly process to an external manufacturing facility, overseeing the set-up of the production line and training the assembly staff.

  • Production of product safety certificates during assembly

 

Skills & Experience

The candidate will be skilled in using hand tools and have a good understanding of mechanical and electrical principles. They will be organised and maintain high standards of order in the workshop with high attention to detail in their work.
